What Is the NW Natural Smart Thermostat Rebate (& How Does it Work)?
Let’s break it down. The program runs from November 1st through March 31st each year. When you enroll, you’ll receive a $25 reward just for signing up. Then, if you participate in at least half of the program events during the winter season, you’ll earn another $25.
NW Natural identifies specific cold-weather ‘events’ when they need customers to pitch in and reduce usage just a bit. When an event is called, your smart thermostat will automatically make a small adjustment, usually lowering the temperature by one to four degrees for a short period of time.
But you’re always in control. If you don’t like the temperature change, you can override it at any time.
It’s important to note that this rebate does not cover appliance installation (or servicing) costs, switching services, or other similar offerings.
Are You Eligible? (The Program Requirements)
The requirements are straightforward. You will need:
- To be a NW Natural customer.
- A natural gas forced air furnace that provides your home’s space heating.
- A qualifying smart thermostat installed in your home.
